Eurosoft has already announced it for release on PlayStation in Europe and Capcom Entertainment announced a long time ago that it would be coming out in Japan, but luckily Code: Veronica has yet to be confirmed for a Stateside release by Capcom in this country.Why is that a lucky thing? Well, mostly because the first Gun Survivor on PlayStation left such a horrible taste in my mouth. You know, that pasty, death throat feeling you often get when you wake up in the morning after a night of swallowing things that should've never been near you mouth in the first place.Maybe I'm not being fair to the game and it's quite possible that the jump from PlayStation to PlayStation 2 will be a change that can make this series worth playing. But, it's going to take a few more gargles with the old Scope before I get that fresh feeling back.At any rate, you probably came here looking for information about the game and not my worthless and overly cynical opinions.

So, here we go.Resident Evil Survivor 2 Code: Veronica is set in the same universe as the very popular Resident Evil Code: Veronica X (you know, that game that we rated in the 'good' range, but most of you thought should've been in the 'great' range), but instead of being a 3rd person perspective adventure game, it's played from the first person perspective.In the game, players can take control of either Claire Redfield or Steve Burnside in one of two completely unique play modes - Dungeon and Arcade. Both modes offer light gun support, including the GunCon and GunCon 2 (FYI - the light gun support was taken out of the US version of the original), though the game can also be played with the standard Dual Shock 2 controller.The Arcade mode puts you in a situation where the main goal is to escape from Rockfort Island. There are different stages that you must venture through where you must get to and kill the boss, find the key to get out of the area and do all of this within a specific time limit.

Resident Evil Survivor 2: Code Veronica is the 2nd release in a series of light gun shooter video games by Capcom for the PlayStation 2.
