As for which ending is best 'The Journey Begins' ending is probably the best, because once you find OCTO you discover that the magma tube which Lethe Cavern depends on is almost shut down. But that's okay since the Core turns out to be a fully-stocked space ship, and the Sentients can just go to another planet better suited for life than Mars. Waking mars ending.
